APPOINTMENT OF AREA OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Consortium is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced person to fill the position of Area Operations Manager in the Parrett IDB area. This is a responsible and rewarding role with lots of variety from day to day. The successful applicant will be expected to have a track record of management and organisation of a small in house workforce and contractors who carry out land, water management or construction activities.

The Axe Brue and Parrett Internal Drainage Boards are statutory public bodies set up under the Land Drainage Act to carry out flood risk and water level management within a large part of the County of Somerset which encompasses the Somerset Levels and Moors. The two Boards act together under a joint services arrangement entitled the Somerset Drainage Boards Consortium.

The post, which is full time and permanent, is based at the Consortium Offices in Highbridge Somerset and carries with it a salary of £24k to £33k plus a generous pension scheme and excellent working conditions. The successful candidate will be required to live locally.
