REGULATION 12A DETERMINATION OF WHETHER IMPROVEMENT WORKS SHOULD PROCEED: DRAINAGE BODY – THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (LAND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT WORKS) REGULATIONS 1999 (AS AMENDED)

This notice has been prepared by the Parrett Internal Drainage Board (‘Parrett IDB’) in accordance with the requirements of The Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 2017, referred to as ‘the Regulations’ in this notice.

The Parrett IDB has determined that the proposed improvement works, comprised of dredging and associated works along 2.2km of the River Parrett between Stathe bridge and Burrowbridge, should proceed.

The Parrett IDB considered the assessment and mitigation measures within the Environmental Statement (ES) as well as representations received in accordance with Regulation 10, and concluded that there will be no significant likely adverse effects on the environment associated with the proposed scheme, either alone or in combination with other known plans and projects. No objections were received during the Regulation 10 consultation period in relation to any likely significant environmental effects.

Responses received to the Regulation 10 consultation were supportive of the scheme. Observations and minor amendments to the technical appendices were received, this information was incorporated into the final design of the scheme.
