SRA Funding & Grants

Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) was launched in January 2015 as a response to the devastating floods of winter 2013-14.

As Partners of the SRA, the Axe Brue and Parrett Internal Drainage Boards have acted as delivery partner for numerous projects funded by the SRA, including the King Sedgemoor Drain Bank Raising Works, Renewed Outfalls at Back Ditch and Chedzoy Tilting Weir (both completed in 2025) and the Annual Water Injection Dredging Programme on the River Parrett, which has been delivered by the Parrett Internal Drainage Board since 2016.
